Saucy Susan Pork Chops
We love pork chops on the grill in the summer. When winter arrives
we only grill them outside occasionally. Because of that, I developed this easy
mid-week recipe. The chops get a nice color in the grill pan and stay moist and
tasty. Richard likes this dish served with macaroni and cheese or roasted potatoes,
or even rice. Add a vegetable and/or salad and you are all set. |

INGREDIENTS
-
2 pork chops
-
Chinese 5 Spice
-
1/4 - 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
(for pan & to sprinkle chops)
-
enough water to cover the bottom of the pan
-
4 tablespoons of Saucy Susan
(2T to top each chop)
-
fresh pepper to taste
-
Pam spray
|
About one hour before cooking, season both sides of your chops with the
Chinese 5 Spice and pepper. You can find this Chinese 5 Spice in most supermarkets
with the other spices these days. It has a unique flavor and is really great on
pork. Bring the chops to room temperature 1/2 hour before cooking.
Preheat your oven to 350. Spray your grill pan with Pam or something
like it and get the pan hot. When the pan is hot, add the chops. Brown for
about 2 - 3 minutes each side. In the meantime, cover the bottom of the pan in which
you will bake the chops with the water & soy. After the chops are browned,
transfer to the baking pan. Sprinkle with soy and the 2 T of Saucy Susan. Bake
for 30 -35 minutes.
Serves 2.
